Mr. Wilton Alexander Wells III affectionately called “Shiheim” of Elizabeth City,NC no longer answers to his name on this side of the Jordan and the Horton’s Servants of Service are comforting his heartbroken loved ones with sincere compassion. Mr. Wells wrote the last sentence of his “Life Sketch” on Tuesday, January 19,2021 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Services commemorating this priceless gem will be held on Wednesday, January 27,2021 at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel at 1pm. Following the Order of Divine Worship, Mr. Well’s delicate vessel along with his adored family will be escorted to the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Elizabeth City for the Committal Rites. Yes, it will be heartbreaking for his mother Shirley, siblings and other relatives to depart from the designed earthly resting place without “Shiheim” however, the shout through it all is that on the day Gabriel Sounds his Glorious Trumpet, those who are sleeping in the faith, shall rise up to meet Him in the air.
Leaving to cherish his memories is a very loving and devoted mother, Shirley Ann Hinton, of Elizabeth City, NC; his one and only big brother, Ronchelle Hinton of Elizabeth City,NC; two grandmothers, Essie Hinton of Belvidere, NC and Willie Mae Wells of Greenville, SC; four aunts, Pauline Holley (Leon) of Elizabeth City, NC, Mildred Wells of Greenville, SC, Paula Wells of Greenville, SC, Becky Wells (Sam) of Greenville, SC; four uncles, Ellis Hinton, Jr. of Hobbsville, NC, Artis Christopher Hinton of Belvidere, NC, John Wells of Greenville, SC and Robert Wells of Gainesville,FL;nephew and niece; a special family friend, William Ervin Griffin of Elizabeth City, NC; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.Also left to cherish his memories is an extended list of supportive friends, Pig, Banks, Squirt, Deon, Nookie, Tabby, Tony, Meeka (cousin), Katrina, Angela, Chris, Frank, Phil, True, Ed, Breeze, and many others. Wilton “Shiheim” Wells is preceded in death by his father, Wilton Alex Wells, Jr.; two grandfathers, Wilton Wells, Sr., and Ellis Hinton, Sr.; one great-grandfather, Wilton Wells; and one aunt, Lillian Hinton Sessoms.
