It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. William Larry Whidbee as he answered the Master's call on April 14, 2024.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mr. Whidbee have been finalized and will commence with a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 12Noon at Galatia Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Whidbee will lie in peaceful repose from 11am until time of service.
Following the life honoring services in the sanctuary, Mr. Whidbee along with his adored family, will be escorted to his earthly resting place in the Galatia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery for Committal Rights.
As hard as it will be for William’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Larry leaves his loving and loyal wife, Barbara James-Whidbee. He leaves his sisters, Edie White (Richard) of Hertford North Carolina, Audrey, Yvonne and Cynthia Whidbee of Waterbury Connecticut, Lavern Hernandez (Vernon), Beulah Johnikins of Waterbury Connecticut and brother, Nelson Whidbee (Cynthia) also of Waterbury Connecticut.
He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children, grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He loved them dearly and had a fun time with them. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him. He had a special place in his heart for Cookie, Sheila and Desiree.
New Hope, North Carolina had no other like him.
The professionals at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are accommodating each request and personal desire of the Whidbee and connected families.
