The moment has come and the Horton’s Funeral Home Family has been given the solemn duty to announce that Mr. Walter Edward Jones McCray is no longer troubled with the cares of this world but he is now resting among the Heavenly Host. Mr. McCray began his life of everlasting peace on Thursday June 11, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

All who wish to spend precious moments with Walter and his loving family may do so on Wednesday, June 17,2020 between the hours of 5-7pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations for viewing and visitation. The Obsequies for Mr. McCray will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 11am at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with Bishop Calvin Johnson, officiating. Following the services in the chapel Mr. McCray’s earthen vessel along with his adored family will be escorted to Cedar Wood Cemetery in Hertford, NC for Committal Rites. With in following the COVID-19 restrictions for the service seating will be limited, please see the family for admission to the service.
