Though the clouds may hang over there will be a brighter day in that land, they call heaven  God shall wipe all tears away….

During this moment of sadness, the Horton’s Funeral Home Family is offering genuine comfort to the remaining loved ones of Mr. Trevoir Donta Melton, Sr. who drifted off to sleep in the arms of his Jesus as He stated “Come unto Me, My Dear Child” on September 7, 2024.

On Saturday September 14, 2024 commencing at 3pm, a Triumphant Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place at Nebo Baptist Church Family Life Center. Mr. Melton will lie in peaceful repose from 2pm-3pm. Following the services in the Family Life Center, Trevior’s delicate temple along with his adored family will be escorted to the Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery for committal rights. 

As difficult as it will be for his mother, children, siblings and other family members to dismiss from this earthly resting place without Trevoir all will can find confidence knowing God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”

Trevoir leaves to cherish his precious memories: His mother; Six (6) children - Jasmine, Devonta (Pootie), Taidre, Trevoir, Jr. (Stink), Kameria (Daddy’s Little Girl) and Kashmir (DaDa); Three (3) special children, Quincy (Head), Naya (Baby Girl), and Jeremah (Curly Head); Two Sisters (2) - Tomeka Melton-Beale (husband, Stephen) and Kero Fauntleroy (husband, Joe); Two (2) Nieces - Kamecia (Meesha or Byrd) and Shameir (Girly); Two (2) nephews - DeDonta (Chee Chee) and JoeQuanta (Bud); One (1) great niece - Kiyani (Snickerdoodle); and two (2) great nephews - Kace (Chee Chee, Jr.) and Khari (Man Man) and one great nephew on the way. He also leaves behind the love of his life, Sheena Cherry; two (2) God-Sisters, Renita Branch and Brandi Branch; and one (1) God-Brother,
Shawn Branch, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The professionals at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are accommodating each request and personal desire of the Melton and connected families.
