As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. Tony Darnell Johnson as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. Mr. Johnson got his ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Sunday, March 23,2023.

The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration will begin as with a Viewing and Visitation on Sunday April 6,2025 between the hours of 6pm-8pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations in Hertford, NC.  A Triumphant Celebration of Life Service will begin on Monday, April 7,2025 at 1pm at New Sawyer’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. D.Stefan Gregory, Officiating  

Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Butts Family Cemetery. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

As hard as it will be for Tony’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
