Timothy Charity Sr. Obituary

With many mixed emotions and understandably broken hearts, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with family of Timothy O’Neal Charity Sr. Affectionately called “Tim Beetle”. as they prepare to say “Until We Reunite." Mr. Charity transitioned from this Life on May 6,2026 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Chesapeake,VA.

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mr. Timothy have been finalized and will commence on Sunday May 17,2026 at 3pm with a Triumphant Homegoing Celebration at Manteo First Assembly Manteo,NC with Bishop DuWayne Gibbs, officiating and Bishop Marcus Etheridge delivering the Eulogy.

As hard as it will be for Timothy’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Lisa Banks; his three children, Jamell Banks of Manteo, Timothy Charity of Manteo, and Krystle Banks of Manteo; and his beloved grandchildren, Hailey, Javon, Jaslyn, J’Khi, Fallyn, Aubrey, Remi, Trey, Jaheem, Nyasia, and Jordyn. He also gained two grandsons, Marley and Cardell. He leaves behind four sisters: Earlene Charity of Manteo; Sister Cheryl Charity, who preceded him in death; Joann Selby (Alvin) of Manteo; and Anette Overton of Virginia. He also leaves two brothers: Antonio Charity (Shirleen) of Manteo and Marshall Gallop (Loretta) of Currituck. He also leaves to cherish his memory his mother-in-law, Fever Banks, whom he loved dearly, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Although Timothy exited this walk called life and left a void in his family that no one but God can fill, they can find comfort knowing that if Timothy could leave any consolation, it would be these Love-able Lord-like lyrics: I’m free....praise the Lord I’m free....I’m no longer bound, there no more chains holding me...for my soul is resting, it’s just a blessing.......praise the Lord, Hallelujah.....I’m free.

The compassionate professionals at Horton’s Funeral Homes and Cremations are working around the clock to ensure that the Charity and connected families every need is attended too.
