Tameka Kane Obituary

With sincere compassion and concern, the Horton Family stands hand in hand with the relatives of Mrs. Tameka Octavia Kane as they prepare to celebrate her lasting legacy. Mrs. Kane transitioned into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 receiving her heavenly summons while resting at Forsyth Medical Center.

A Triumphant Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church. Tameka will lie in peaceful repose from from 10am until time of service.

It will be an adjustment for Mrs. Kane’s family and friends not being able to spend time with her any longer while here.  However, the silver lining is just as the songwriter penned, “When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus we will sing and shout the victory.”

Immediately following the order of service, a Committal Service will come forth in the Roosevelt Memorial Park. It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

Tameka was preceded in death by Maternal Grandfather, Charlie P. Percer and Maternal Grandmother, Josephine Percer.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Terrance Lamont Kane Jr.; parents, Todd Pickle and Sylvia Pickle; children, TaShayla Shanae Pickle-Kane and Terrance Lamont Kane, III; siblings, Terrance Pernell Pickle of New York, NY,  Shanae Kane of Baltimore, MD, Nyshae Johnson of Baltimore, MD, and Ernestine Cunningham Davis (Granny); aunts, Jacquelyn Bolling (Ron), Theresa Seymore, Ramona Handy, Cassandra Daniels; uncles, Tarrod Cunningham,  Joseph Seymore (Martha); nephew, Jordan Tyshawn Majka, and a host of cousins, family and friends.

The professionals at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are accommodating each request and personal desire of the Kane and connected families.
