Sylvester Demetrius Selby

The moment has come and the Horton’s Funeral Home Family has been given the solemn duty to announce that Sylvester Demetrius Selby, is no longer troubled with the cares of this world but he is now resting among the Heavenly Host. Mr.Selby began his Life of everlasting peace on October 2,2023.

The Services honoring his legacy will take place on Saturday October 14,2023 at 2pm at Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church  Manteo, NC with Elder TJ Etheridge delivering the Eulogy. Viewing will take place from 1pm until time of service. During this time, family and friends can gather and remember better days with Mr. Selby while relying on their faith to get them through this difficult time. Immediately following the services in the Sanctuary Mr. Selby’s earthen vessel along with his cherished family will be escorted to Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church  Manteo, NC for committal rights. 

As hard as it will be for Demetrius loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”

Guests are being received at 140 Scarborough Street Manteo,NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
