It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. Stephen Bonner as he peacefully answered the Master's call on Monday, October 30, 2023.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mr. Bonner have been finalized and will commence with a Viewing and Visitation on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 5pm-7pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 1pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with Apostle Edna Hatthaway Lawrence, Officiating.
Immediately following the services in the chapel, Mr. Bonner’s delicate temple along with his adored family, will be escorted to Beaver Hill Cemetery for Committal Rites.
As hard as it will be for Stephen’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
He leaves to cherish his memory, a longtime companion, Ms. Mary Lightfoot; 3 daughters, Dr. Tarsha Rogers, of Hertford, NC, Ms. Stephanie Lighfoot and Ms. Ava Lightfoot, both of Edenton, NC; 2 brothers, Sam Bonner & his wife Vivian of Elizabeth City, NC; Roy Bonner & his wife Jill of Crofton, Maryland, a sister in-law, Ms. Monica Bonner, 3 grandchildren and a host of other relatives & friends.
The Professionals at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are accommodating each request and personal desire of the Bonner and connected families.
