With many mixed emotions and understandable broken hearts, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with the family of Mr. Shelton Lamont White as they prepare to say “Rest In Peace”. Mr. White transitioned from this life on Tuesday, August 15,2023.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 3pm at Edenton United Methodist Church with Dr. Kera Johnson, officiating. A Viewing and Visitation will take place on Saturday August 19, 2023 from 6pm-8pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations. During this time, family and visitors can reminisce on the days of old and embrace everlasting memories, while beginning the healing process as a result of this devastating loss.
Immediately following the services in the sanctuary, Shelton’s earthen vessel along with his adored family will be escorted to Fellowship and Worship Center for Interment Rites.
Although Mr. White stepped out of this life’s backdoor, those whom he loved and loved him can find solace knowing he has walked into the Garden of rest, where there are green pastures of peace and brooks flowing with living water.
Guests are being received at 114 East Freemason Street where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton’s Ebony Motorcade.
Shelton leaves to cherish his memories, two children, DaQuayshia J. Geter & Diontay J. Geter both of Winston-Salem NC; father, Archie Sutton Sr. of Edenton, NC; grandmother, Jeanette White of Edenton, NC; four sisters Jessica White, Jamara White, Jada Privott all of Edenton, NC and Artina Walton (Randolph) of Tyner, NC; three brothers, Archie N. Sutton Jr., Arkay Sutton, Arkey Sutton all of Edenton, NC. Shelton also leaves five aunts, Janice Cofield (Clearence) of Raleigh, NC, Cynthia Saunders of Windsor, NC, Rachel Baker (Joe), Rosa Holley (Robert) both of Plymouth, NC and Anita Hickory (James) of California; ten uncles, Cleaven Lee White Jr. (Debora) of Tarboro, NC, George White (Phyllis) of Raleigh, NC, Edward White (Beth), David Sutton, Philip Sutton all of Edenton, NC, James White (Jesse) of Rocky Mount, NC, Marvin Sutton (Mary) of Fayetteville, NC, Donell Sutton of Florida, and Joseph Sutton of Roper, NC; special brothers, Devonne Wiggins, Davin Coston, Erick Brown, and Frankie Anthony; special cousin, Shanita Cofield; his angel, Qumeshia Saunders; and Godmother, Isaleane Jones. Shelton’s memory will forever be cherished by a host of cousins whom he loved dearly.
