It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. Samuel Lee Boston as he peacefully answered the Master's call on Saturday February 1,2025 in New Jersey.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday February 15,2025 at Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church at 12noon with Apostle Edna Hatthaway-Lawrence, Officiating and Elder Dean Satterfield, Eulogist. Mr. Boston will lie in state from 11am until time of service.
Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Boston’s delicate temple along with his adored family will be escorted to the Beaver Hill Cemetery for committal rights.
As hard as it will be for Samuels loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Pamela Ennis Boston of the home in Edgewater, New Jersey,five children; a son, Mr. Jeffrey 'Jeff' Boston (Loretta) of Louisville, Kentucky, and four daughters, Ms. Shawn Williams of Dumfries, VA, Ms. Gina Ward of Wendell, NC, Ms. Lynette Brown of Elizabeth City, NC and Ms. Marketa Boston of Edenton, NC; four sisters, Ms. Annie Ruth Boston, Mrs. Dolline (Anthony) Hathaway, Ill, Ms. Kim Boston, all of Edenton, NC, and Mrs. Donna (Edward) Daniels of High Point, NC; eighteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other
