May the works I've done speak for me.
When I′m resting in my grave,
There's nothing more to be said;
May the works the works I've done
Let it speak for me, for me…..
Mother Rosa Jordan Valentine of Edenton, NC no longer answers to her name on this side of the Jordan and the Horton’s Servants of Service are comforting her heartbroken loved ones with sincere compassion. Mother Rosa Jordan Valentine affectionately called “Turk” wrote the last sentence of her “Life Sketch” on Friday, August 1,2025 at Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Edenton, NC.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mother Valentine have been finalized and will commence on Saturday August 9,2025 at 1pm with a Triumphant Homegoing Celebration at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with her beloved pastor Rev. Dr. William M. Sawyer delivering the Eulogy.She will lie in state from 12noon until time of service.
Following the order of service, Mother Valentine’s physical temple along with her cherished loved ones will be escorted to the Vine Oak Cemetery for Interment Rites. Although Mother Valentine’s family will leave that earthly resting place without this virtuous woman, they will rest knowing that she is now among the Heavenly Hosts singing that glorious hymn "When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we will sing and shout the victory."
Guests are being received at 918 North Broad Street Edenton, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
Leaving to cherish her memory are three children, William Donnell Valentine (Yvette), Carl Lee Valentine, and Robbin Felton (George); 11 grandchildren-Derwayne, Dana, Earl III, Michelle, Carlos, JR, Gabriella, Latoya, Aaron, Mikyle and Malia; 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
