Though the clouds may hang over there will be a brighter day in that land, they call heaven God shall wipe all tears away…
In extreme sorrow, the staff of Hortons Funeral Home and Cremations is embracing the tender hearts of the family of Mr. Rodney Kee Taylor who entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. From there, he picked up his new wardrobe and golden keys for his everlasting life in Heaven.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mr. Taylor have been finalized and will commence on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 1pm with a Triumphant Homegoing Celebration at Evangelical Methodist Church with Pastor Demetrius Stokley, Eulogist and Reverend Fondella Leigh, Officiating.
Following the services in the chapel, Mr. Taylor’s delicate temple along with his adored family will be escorted to the Porter’s Chapel Church Cemetery for committal rights. Mr. Taylor was so much to so many and it will be difficult with him no longer being with us on this side. However, those who loved him can find solace knowing, he is now strolling the streets paved with pure gold free from all of life’s fitful fevers. There, he’s sitting at the Welcome Table feasting on milk and honey while enjoying being in the presence of his Heavenly Father.
Guests are being received at the residence of the deceased located at 607 Chapanoke Rd. Hertford, NC 27944 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
The Compassionate Professionals at Horton Funeral Home and Cremations are humbled to be a part of this precious family and serve them with uncompromising dignity and love during this difficult time.
Goodnight “Rodney”...Rest Well, we will see you in the morning.
