As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. Robert Lewis Bonner Sr. affectionately known as “Slick” as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. Mr. Bonner got his ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Saturday, May 31, 2025.
A Triumphant Celebration of Life Service will begin on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 1pm at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. William Sawyer, Pastor/Eulogist. Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.
As hard as it will be for Robert loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Guests are being received at the residence of his mother, Ms. Doris Bonner located at 129 Oakdale Drive Edenton, NC 27932 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
The Compassionate Professionals of Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are serving the Bonner family and connected families with uncompromising dignity.
