With tender hearts and compassionate hands, the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthy transition of a gentle soul, Robbie Gene Burrus affectionately called “Red Breast” quietly stepped out of Life’s backdoor to meet his Heavenly Father on Friday January 15,2022.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday January 23,2022 at 2pm in the Sanctuary of Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church Fairfield, NC with Bishop Levi Murray, officiating.During this time, family and visitors can reminisce on the days of old and embrace everlasting memories, while beginning the healing process as a result of this devastating loss. As hard as it will be for Mr. Burrus’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Carolyn Burrus of Gaffney,SC one daughter Shamika Boyd of Maryland. Four step children and 14 step grandchildren that he thought the world of. One sister that he love dearly Della(John) Spencer of Winston Salem, North Carolina . Two brothers Dale Burrus of Columbia, North Carolina and Clarence(Ann) Burrus of Winston Salem,North Carolina. Two Aunts Gloria Jean Burrus of Fairfield, North Carolina and Dorothy McCabe of Columbia, North Carolina. Four uncles Jimmy Burrus(Anne) of Fairfield, North Carolina, Kenneth(Phillisha) Burrus of Newport News, Virginia, Danny Burrus of Engelhard, North Carolina, and Leondaus Burrus of Havelock, North Carolina . Also left to cherish his memories two nieces Latoya Spencer from Winston Salem,North Carolina and Adrine Wiggins of Germany. Four nephews and six great nieces, and eight great nephews along with a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
