Though the clouds may hang over there will be a brighter day in that land, they call heaven, God shall wipe all tears away…..
As the Angelic Host rejoices with the arrival of another anointed man of God, those who remain to endure have heavy hearts and indescribable sadness as a result of this tremendous loss. Reverend George Edward Harper Sr. gently laid his head in the Master’s arms and went to sleep in Paradise on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
The Triumphant Life Celebration and Celebration of Pastoral Transition will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 12Noon at New Light Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. A Viewing and Visitation will take place Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm with a Christian Wake Service beginning at 7pm at New Willow Grove Baptist Church. During this time, family and friends can gather and remember better days with Reverend Harper while relying on their faith to get them through this difficult time.
Immediately following the formalities in the sanctuary, Reverend Harper’s physical temple along with his adored family, will be escorted to the New Willow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for Interment Rites.
Now that he has finally met the Man he has witnessed to others about for so many years and been honored to sit at the feet of the one he prayed to, not to mention beholding the beauty of the one he taught his family about, his spirit is satisfied and when the trumpet is sounded and the sky opens once and for all, the Master Himself will call his name saying, "George, you’ve been faithful, you’ve been true and you’ve done all you could ever do and for your faithfulness, ITS YOUR TIME."
Guests are being received at the residence of the deceased residence located at 2209 Benefit Rd. Chesapeake, VA 23322 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
The compassionate professionals at Horton’s Funeral Homes and Cremations are working around the clock to ensure that the Harper and connected families every need is attended too.
