Reginald Blount

It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. Reginald Blount as he peacefully answered the Master's call on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. 

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mr. Blount have been finalized and will commence with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11am at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel.

As hard as it will be for Reginald’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.” 

Reggie or King Reb leaves his cherished memories to his five beloved children, Marquetta Nixon (Tim), Twana James (Darrell), Reginald Blount Jr., Lyndell Blount (Lise) and Dana Blount; 15 grandchildren, Olivia and Nyira Nixon, Dereon and Devin James, Zahkirah, Zavion, Ryun Blount, Zamari Murray, Carter Spruill, Juelz, Isaiah, Camron Blount, Jhene’, Jahniya, and Ja’Cere Ward; brother, Andre Blount (Enez); sister, Patricia Howell; special aunt, Clara Brooks; and special brother-in-law, Wilt Norman. Reggie also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Six special friends, Boston Hammer, Sharon Blount, Sylvia Moore, Lisa Branch, Latasha Brooks, and Mrs. Oressa Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Blount and Pearl Patrick Blount Kornegay; grandmother, Dorothy Patrick; brother, Stacy Blount and sister, Peretta Blount Norman. He is also preceded by nephew Mailk Hardy, and he would say "Aye uncle Reggie let me get a dollar, I'll pay you back on the 1st... the first chance I get”.
