As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mrs. Reba Rena Jordan as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with her. Mrs. Jordan got her ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Sunday, December 26, 2021.
The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration will begin with a Viewing and Visitation on Thursday, December 30, 2021 between the hours of 5-7pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations in Hertford, NC. A Triumphant Celebration of Life Service will begin on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 11am in the Main Sanctuary of Fountain of Life Church in Elizabeth City, NC with Pastor Daniel Boston, Officiating and Bishop Landon B. Mason Sr., Eulogist.
Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Piney Grove AME Zion Church Cemetery. It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a her loving husband Mr. Alton Jordan who she affectionately called HONEY, her mother, Katherine Mitchell Twine, and two Godsons Jermaine Spence, Jr. and Aaron Boston; 8 brothers, Prophet Joseph Twine (Sally) of Los Angeles, CA, Willie Twine (Carrie) of Elizabeth City, NC, Zeddie Twine (Maria) of Greensboro, NC, Bruce Twine of Hertford, NC,Tony Twine (Shari) of Atlanta, GA, Barry Twine of Hampton, VA., Lloyd Twine of Raleigh, NC, Gregory Twine of Tyner, NC.; 9 sisters, Gwendolyn Twine of Hertford, NC, Sandra Granby (James) of Tyner, NC, Connie Twine of Virginia Beach,VA, Angela Montgomery of Elizabeth City, NC, Beverly Twine of Tyner, NC, Sharon Goodwin (Ernest) of Elizabeth City, NC, Teresa Lewis (Archie) of Suffolk, Va, Arlene Boston (Rev. Danny) of Suffolk, VA, Maxine Mason (Bishop Landon) of Tyner, NC.; Her mother-in-law Mabel Jordan Belvidere NC:; 4 brother in laws, Chester (Thelma) Rochelle, NY, Issac Jordan (Linda) Belvidere, NC Micheal (Angela) Elizabeth City, NC, and Paul Jordan of the home. 1 sister-in-law, Pasco Jordan (Maurice) of Belvidere, NC. Reba has a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. She also had many special friendships.
Preceding her death was her father Lloyd Twine, brother Alvin Twine and father-in-law Issac Jordan, Sr.
As hard as it will be for Reba’s loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
