As the Angelic Host rejoices with the arrival of another anointed woman of God, those who remain to endure have heavy hearts and indescribable sadness as a result of this tremendous loss sorrowfully announce that Mother Pencie Cola Adams Collins gently laid her head in the Master’s arms and went to sleep in Paradise on Friday, August 25, 2023 surrounded by her loving and dedicated family at the family homestead.
Precious moments have been set aside to spend intimate time while reflecting on fonder memories. Services to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of this virtuous woman of God will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1pm in the sanctuary of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Engelhard, NC with Dr. Michael Smith, officiating. Following the formalities in the sanctuary, Mother Collins delicate temple along with her adored family, will be escorted to Brown Cemetery for Interment Rites. A viewing and visitation will take place Friday September 1, 2023 at Horton’s Memorial Chapel Columbia, NC from 6-8pm.
Although her heartbroken family will have to depart, leaving her earthen vessel in this designated place, all that knew Mother Pencie can rest knowing that she is now apart of the glorious number that John The Revelator spoke of in the final book in the Bible. John said he looked and saw a Great number, that no man could number and The Lord informed him, that those were the saints that had come up through hard trials and tribulations and had washed their Robes In the blood of the Lamb.
She is survived by her sons: Michael Adams (Elaine) of Engelhard, NC, Maurice C. Collins (Sebrina) of Ahoskie, NC, Joseph C. Collins, Jr. and Raymond Collins of Engelhard, NC.(daughters) Debra Gibbs, (Roy) of Engelhard, NC, Shelia Blount (Gene) of FT. Leonard Woods Mo., Lillie Adams-McClaud (Henry) of Greenville, NC. One sister-in-law, Beadie Terrell of Queens, NY. Two (son-in -law), Bobby Bryant of Engelhard, NC and Jerald Brickhouse of Columbia, NC. A very special cousin, Hannah C. Mackey and niece Sushia Adams-Salley, a host of grand and great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Guests are being received at her residence located at 233 Greenhill Road Engelhard, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton’s Ebony Motorcade.
