Pastor Carrie Mae (Golden) Holmes

As the Angelic Host rejoices with the arrival of another anointed woman of God, those who remain to endure have heavy hearts and indescribable sadness as a result of this tremendous loss. Pastor Carrie Mae Holmes gently laid her head in the Master’s arms and went to sleep in Paradise on Sunday, June 25, 2023. 

The Triumphant Life Celebration and Celebration of Pastoral Transition will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 1pm at Manteo First Assembly with Bishop Emma Jones, Eulogist. Pastor Holmes will lie in peaceful repose from 12Noon until time of service. During this time, family and visitors can reminisce on the days of old and embrace everlasting memories, while beginning the healing process as a result of this devastating loss. 

Immediately following the formalities in the sanctuary, Pastor Holmes’ physical temple along with her adored family, will be escorted to the Free Grace Church of Christ for Interment Rites. 

Now that she has finally met the Man she has witnessed to others about for so many years and been honored to sit at the feet of the one she prayed to, not to mention beholding the beauty of the one she taught her family about, her spirit is satisfied and when the trumpet is sounded and the sky opens once and for all, the Master Himself will call her name saying, "Carrie, you’ve been faithful, you’ve been true and you’ve done all you could ever do and for your faithfulness, ITS YOUR TIME."

Pastor Holmes leaves precious memories to her two sons, Michael A. Holmes, Sr. (Karen) of Cary, NC and Brian K. Holmes of Sierra Vista, AZ; two sisters, Sharon D. Golden of Canyon, TX and Cora Faye Burrus of Manteo, NC; three brothers,Thomas B. Golden, Jr. (Margie), Charlie W. Golden (Louise) of Manteo, NC and Henry L. Golden (Vanessa) of Bonaire, GA; six grandchildren, Miesha, Michael Jr.,Siara, Ariana, Jade, and Kimora Holmes, two Goddaughters, Kenya March and Alexus Hardy.  Pastor Holmes leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends to forever cherish her blessed legacy.
