Norma Taylor Obituary

With humbled hearts and consoling minds, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family serves notice that Mrs. Norma Jean Taylor laid down the cares of this world on Saturday, February 18, 2023. From there, she picked up her new wardrobe and golden keys for her everlasting life in Heaven.

The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration events have been methodically orchestrated and will proceed in the following order.  Beginning on Saturday, February 25, 2023 between the hours of 5pm and 7pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations, Mrs. Taylor will lie in state for a final glimpse for family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 2pm at Greater Welch’s Chapel Baptist Church Tyner, NC.

Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Greater Welch’s Chapel Baptist Church. It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

Now Norma can find peace knowing she is now sitting at the welcome table hearing the Master say “Well-Done” thou good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over the things on earth, now I will make you ruler over many.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two sons, Michael Taylor of Tyner, Rodney Taylor (Verna) of Hertford; three daughter’s, Delois (Eric) of Edenton, Annette James of Hertford and Denise Taylor of Camden; Ten Grandchildren, Patricia Taylor,  George Taylor (Tia), Marketa Taylor, Demetris Cofield, Quinton Drew (Shalonda), Destiny Combs (Tiki), Michael Taylor, Raphael Taylor, Rakeem Taylor and Shanya Taylor; Six Great Grandchidren, Dezure Nixon, Niquae Powell, Araya Taylor, Camille Drew, Alannah Combs and one unborn grandson; three Great Great Granddaughters;  sisters, Fannie Taylor, Margaret Booker(Cicero),Marjorie Britt, Linda Taylor, Edith Green, and Peggy Taylor; brother, Isaac Taylor (Alice)  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
