Neva Pearl “Wuddie” (Collins) Howard

The moment in time has arrived and the Horton’s Funeral Home Family has been asked to announce to all that as of Thursday October 1,2020 Mother Neva Pearl Howard better know as “Wuddie”  has permanently changed her address to 777 Highway 7,  in that beautiful city called Heaven. This transition took place as she rested in Cross Creek Health Center.

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mother Howard have been finalized and will commence on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 promptly at 1pm with a Triumphant Homegoing Celebration  in the Sanctuary of Mt. Pilgrim Church of Christ Disciples of Christ Engelhard with Elder Redden Leggett officiating and Pastor Larry Shelton delivering the eulogy. Following the Order of Divine worship in the Sanctuary, Mother Howard’s delicate vessel along with her adored family will be escorted to the Brown Cemetery for Interment Rites. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children; Ardavis Collins (Gussie) of Fairfield, NC; Carolyn Champion (Sambo) of Hampton, Va; Thad Howard Jr. (Lettie) of Engelhard, NC; Annie Pearl Howard of Williamsburg Va; James Howard (Barbara)of Engelhard, NC; Coy Howard (Turecca) of Swan Quarter, NC; Devonda Howard of Engelhard NC; Fontella Howard of Engelhard, NC and Linda Moore of Belhaven, NC. She leaves two sisters who she loved dearly; Ida Brock of Hampton, Va and Ardelia Yarborough of Sandford, Florida; sister in law, Wilamenia Smith (William) of Wilson, NC; special niece in kind Mamie Morris of Manteo, NC; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren who she loved with all her heart and a host  of nieces, nephews and friends whom she cherished and loved.

There’s nothing like a “good mother.” The values that she has etched in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives will sustain them although she is now in the company of our Heavenly Father resting in everlasting peace beyond the sky.
