When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul
The moment has come when the Horton Family must pause and inform all that Ms. Miracle Raye Perry no longer resides on this side of the Jordan river. On Monday, July 20, 2020 that Glorious ship of Zion left the dock at her residence and Miracle got on board and was bound for Paradise.
Miracle was born on October 18, 1968 in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Othelia Staten Perry and Raymond R. Perry. She was the youngest of her siblings.
Miracle was educated in the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public School system. She appeared on the live kindergarten show “Romper Room” and became fascinated with learning. She was a proud 1986 graduate of Northeastern High School.
Upon earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Elizabeth City State University in 1990, Miracle continued her education by attending additional institutions of higher learning. She pursued and earned a Master of Arts Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration and Human Services.
Miracle was initiated into the sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in 1987. While on the ECSU campus, she served as President of the Delta Chi Chapter. She was a former member of the Elizabeth City Alumnae Chapter.
Miracle, humble with a non-complaining spirit, was a good person to know. She meant the world to each and everyone. You could not have known nor loved a better perso
On Tuesday July 28,2020 between the hours of 6pm and 8pm Miracle will lie in peaceful repose for those who wish to spend moments with her and the family for viewing and visitation at Horton Funeral Home and Cremations. The “Dash” between Miracles year of birth and year of leaving this world will be honored on Wednesday July 29,2020 at 12 noon in the Sanctuary at St. Stephens Baptist Church and Rev. Dr. Ricky Banks, officiating. She was so much to so many and it will be difficult with her no longer being with us on this side but as the songwriter reminds us “May the work she did speak for her”
The Compassionate Professionals of Horton’s Funeral Homes and Cremations are walking hand in hand with the heartbroken Perry and connected families during this time.
