With humbled hearts and consoling minds, the Horton Funeral Home Family serves notice that Minister Lynetta Jordan as know as “Lynn” has layed down the cares of this world while resting in Portsmouth, Va. From there, she picked up her new wardrobe and golden keys for her everlasting Life in Heaven.
The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration events have been methodically orchestrated and will proceed in the following order. Beginning on Friday, April 9,2021 between the evening hours of 6pm and 8pm a public gathering will come forth as “Lynn” lies in a tranquil repose at Horton’s Funeral Home Cremations. On Saturday, April 10,2021 being called to order promptly at 1 o’clock Post Meridian, the Angelic Obsequies fit for Heaven’s Royal Priesthood will take place at Edenton United Methodist Church with Rev. Garry Hathaway officiating and Apostle Edna Hathaway Lawrence Eulogist. At the conclusion of the Triumphant “Send Off”, “Lynn” along with adored relatives will be escorted to her earthly waiting room called Beaver Hill Cemetery until her name is called to receive her crown of Righteousness . For many years this woman of God has preached, prayed, praised, motivated and drew sinners to a saving God. Now all can find peace knowing she is now sitting at the welcome table hearing the Master say “Well-Done” thou good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over the things on earth, now I will make you ruler over many.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Teresa Jordan; two grandmothers, Etta Hathaway and Evelyn Perry; three grandfathers, John Isaac Perry, Charlie Fain, and Rev Anthony Hathaway, Jr.; one aunt, Anne Mathews, and two uncles, Charles Fain, and Larry Fain.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: two sisters, Anita Elizabeth (Julian) Wallace of Greenville, NC, Joivonni (Tim) Portie-Ewing of Durham, NC; and a brother, Tracy Tyner of Edenton, NC; “her girls” – three nieces, Anitra Jordan, Precious Wallace and JanàeWallace; a grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Fain of Tyner, NC; two great aunts, Rose “Turk” Valentine of Edenton, NC and Bessie Jordan of Greenville, NC; five aunts, Elizabeth Anne (Gilbert) Bartlett of Newport News, VA, Carrie (Edward) Privott of Tyner, NC, Georgia Fain of Hertford, NC, Jacqueline P. Brothers of Edenton, NC, and Apostle Edna Hathaway (Calvin) Lawrence of Chesapeake, VA.; six uncles, Danny (Myra) Fain of Tyner, NC and Elder Jerald Perry, Sr. (Deborah) of Edenton, NC, Matt Mathews of Edenton, NC, Anthony (Dolline) Hathaway, III of Edenton, NC, Roger (Ida) Hathaway of Hampton, VA., and Rev. Gary (Cathy) Hathaway of Chattanooga, TN.; a special nurse, five year old, “Charis Lillian Lawrence” who faithfully waited on her with great patience and love, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
