May the works I've done speak for me.
When I′m resting in my grave,
There's nothing more to be said;
May the works the works I've done
Let it speak for me, for me…..
Mother Minerva Parks Jordan of Murfreesboro, NC no longer answers to her name on this side of the Jordan and the Horton’s Servants of Service are comforting her heartbroken loved ones with sincere compassion. Mother Minerva Parks Jordan wrote the last sentence of her “Life Sketch” on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at ECU Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mother Jordan have been finalized and will commence on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 1pm with a Triumphant Homegoing Celebration at Parker’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Cyrus Waters, Officiating/Pastor and her loving son, Rev. Robert E. Jordan, Eulogist. She will lie in state from 12noon until time of service.
Following the order of service, Mother Jordan’s physical temple along with her cherished loved ones will be escorted to the Robert Gatling Family Cemetery for Interment Rites. Although Mother Jordan’s family will leave that earthly resting place without this virtuous woman, they will rest knowing that she is now among the Heavenly Hosts singing that glorious hymn "When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we will sing and shout the victory."
Guests are being received at 231 Mapleton Rd. Murfreesboro, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
Minerva leaves to cherish one daughter, Kim Lane (Linwood) of Greenville, North Carolina; two sons,Robert Jordan (Lisa) of Gates, North Carolina, Gregg Jordan(Hattie) of Murfreesboro, North Carolina;eight grandchildren, Chris Tyson, Ebony Tyson, Jordan Tyson, Andrell Parker, Aaron Matthews, Amber Jordan, Justin Jordan, and Donté Jordan; and 12 great-grandchildren.
