As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mrs. Mildred Faye Alexander-Boyd as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with her. Mrs. Alexander-Boyd got her ticket and stepped on that Morning Train October 25,2020 while resting in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
The Legacy Remembering events will commence on Saturday October 31,2020 at 2pm with a Triumphant Celebration of Life Service at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Main Chapel with Pastor Tony Rice, officiating.There’s nothing like a “good mother” and the love and values that she has forever etched in the hearts and minds of her children and other relatives that will sustain them, although she is now in the company of our Heavenly Father resting in everlasting peace beyond the sky.
Mildred cherished her family and leaves to mourn her husband; Eway Boyd of Elizabeth City, NC, three children; Darmel Parker of Elizabeth City, NC, Sharmel Rice (Tony) of Elizabeth City, NC, and La’Shelle Alexander of Greenville, NC; parents, Richard and Rubenia Alexander Sr. of Elizabeth City, NC; Seven grandchildren, Deonte Parker, Syncere’ Alexander, La’Shawn Alexander, Skylar Stokley, Layden Alexander, Dorian Parker, and Alaia Rice, all of Elizabeth City, NC. Siblings: Richard Alexander Jr. and Sarah Alexander-Williams of Elizabeth City, NC; niece; Darshelle Alexander- Johnson (Michael) of Virginia Beach, VA and two nephews; Montreal Walker and Shararis Williams, both of Elizabeth City, NC; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
