Mattie Marie Dillard

The moment in time has arrived and the Horton’s Funeral Home Family has been asked to announce to all that Ms. Mattie Marie Dillard has permanently changed her address to 777 Highway 7, in that beautiful city called Heaven as of Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

A Triumphant Life and Legacy Celebration will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2023, commencing at 11am in the sanctuary of Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Edenton, NC. Ms. Dillard will lie in peaceful repose from 10am until the time of service. Immediately following the services in the sanctuary, Ms. Dillard’s delicate temple along with her adored family, will be escorted to Beaver Hill Cemetery for Committal Rites. Inspirational minds can imagine Ms. Dillard has settled into her brand-new mansion in glory, admiring the solid gold floors and walls mad of pure jasper. Not to mention her reunion with all of her friends and loved ones who have gone before her. Those that knew and loved Ms. Dillard can find solace realizing, she is sitting at the welcome table feasting on milk and honey with the heavenly host. We can hear her echo the words “It is well with my soul”

Mattie leaves to mourn her precious memories, her daughter, Rejeter Capehart of Edenton, NC; 2 granddaughters, Ryanika Capehart of Raleigh, NC and Messiah Coston of Edenton, NC; grandson, Ronnell Capehart of Edenton, NC; great-granddaughter Serenity Tripp of Raleigh, NC; 3 sisters, Barbara White of Edenton NC, Rosanna Downing (Wade) of Tyner NC, and Wanda Dillard of Edenton, NC. Mattie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family to forever cherish her blessed memories.
