A Service to remember this precious jewel will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 2pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel. During this time, family and friends can gather and remember better days with Ms. Stanley, while relying on their faith to get them through this difficult time.
Following the services in the sanctuary, Ms. Stanley earthen vessel along with her adored family will be escorted to White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery for Committal Rites. One may wonder why Mary would leave her earthly belongings here when she departed this past Monday, however, those close to her find comfort understanding that where she is now, there was no need for any of her earthly garments or shoes because she has a pair of Golden Slippers and a Long White Robe.
Mary Lou Stanley leaves the cherish her memories, one son, Willie Stanley “Redd” (Ida) of Edenton, North Carolina; one great great niece whom she raised as her granddaughter Eliana Good of Edenton, North Carolina; two brothers, Jack Stanley of Edenton, North Carolina and Robert Taylor of North Carolina; three sisters, Evelyn Gilliam, Linda Ray Stanley, and Myrtle L Stanley all of Edenton, North Carolina; one uncle, Curly White of Edenton, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Cynthia Stanley of Raleigh, North Carolina; special nephews, Milton Stanley (Della) of Tyner, NC, Terry Jerry Stanley and Wilbur Stanley both of Edenton, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary Lou was proceeded in death by her parents, eight brothers, Fred Jr., Ernest, Johnnie, Mack Clyde, Ray, Michael James Edward Mac And Archie; three sisters, Lottie, Louise and Shirley, five uncles and four aunts.
