Mary Louise (Elliott) Jordan

With loving arms of compassion the Horton’s Funeral Home Family is consoling the heartbroken loved ones of Mrs. Mary Louise Jordan as they prepare to take a journey that no family wishes to take. Mrs. Jordan closed the curtains of Life on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at her residence.

The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration events have been methodically orchestrated and will proceed in the following order. On Saturday, September 10, 2022 between the hours of 6pm and 8pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremation, Mrs. Jordan will lie in state for a final glimpse for family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 3pm at White Oak Missionary Baptist Church. 

Guests are being received at the residence of her son, Mr. Steven Jordan located at 82 Willeyton Road Gates, NC 27937 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.

Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the White Oak Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

As hard as it will be for Mary’s loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Rodgers Jordan; brothers Oscar Elliott, and Isiah Elliott and her daughter Brenda Jordan. She leaves to cherish her memories her son Steven Jordan (Chante) of Gates, NC; her stepson, Anthony Privott of Hobbsville, NC; her brothers Wiley Elliott of Hampton, VA; James Elliott of Newport News, VA; Toby Elliott of Tyner, NC; Jerry Elliott of Tyner, NC; her sisters Cortez Bennett of Newport News, VA;  Geneva Winston of Tyner, NC; 8 grandchildren Dominic Jordan (Raveen), Steven Jordan (T’Kara), Tevin Jordan (Jackie), Xavien Jordan, Anthony Privott Jr, Jada Privott, Denvell Sutton, Bryson Jordan, Antione Jordan, Tyler Jordan, 2 great-grandchildren Azayah Jordan and Mateo Altamirano-Santana and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Special thanks to Alice Jordan “Sugar” for her daily talks and their special friendship.
