Martha (Ford) Basnight

As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mrs. Martha Ford Basnight as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with her.  Mrs. Basnight got her ticket and stepped on that morning train Friday, May 8, 2020 at her residence. 

Services to reflect on “The Dash” of Mrs. Basnight’s life which was from her time of birth until the moment she entered into everlasting rest are finalized by her cherished family and are as follows. On Saturday, May 16, 2020 between the hours of 6pm to 8pm tender moments of reflection and viewing will take place at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations While there, relatives and friends can unite in love and support for each other as they prepare to say “farewell" to Mrs. Martha. On Sunday May 17, 2020 commencing at 2pm there will be a Triumphant Legacy Celebration in the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel.  Following the services in the chapel, Mrs. Basnight’s delicate temple along with her adored family will be escorted to the Beaver Hill Cemetery where internment will take place next to her Late husband Willie Ray Basnight Sr.

Martha leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Martha Gregory; four sons, Johnnie(Phyllis), Willie Ray Basnight Jr, Raleigh(Debra Ann) and Ivey L. Basnight. , Stepchildren Danny Bembry(Florence), Thelma Liverman (William) and Mattie Carter; forty one grandchildren; one hundred eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends. 

Guests are being received at the residence located at 208 East Peterson Street Edenton, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade
