Margaret Marvetta Simpson

With humbled hearts and consoling minds, the Horton’s Memorial Chapel Family serves notice that Ms. Margaret Marvetta Simpson laid down the cares of this world on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. From there, she picked up her new wardrobe and golden keys for her everlasting life in Heaven.

The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration events have been methodically orchestrated and will proceed in the following order.  Beginning on Friday, October 28, 2022 between the hours of 5pm and 7pm at Horton’s Memorial Chapel in Columbia, NC Ms. Simpson will lie in state for a final glimpse for family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:30pm at Columbia High School. 

Guests are being received at 401 Secota Village Columbia, NC 27925 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.

Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Salem Memorial Gardens. It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

Now Margaret can find peace knowing she is now sitting at the welcome table hearing the Master say “Well-Done” thou good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over the things on earth, now I will make you ruler over many. 

Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, son, J’quis Tyre White of Greensboro NC; mother, Merlene Simpson of Columbia, NC.; sisters, Jacqueline Rhodes of Brooklyn, NY, Delinda Simpson-Johnson of Hopewell, VA and Felisha Simpson of Greensboro, NC; brothers, Milton G. Simpson Jr. (Venus) of Columbia, NC, Kelvin Simpson of Greensboro, NC, Dominic McCleese of Creswell, NC and Deon McClease (Marilynn) Of Columbia, NC; nieces and nephews, Sharonna Rhodes, Jamien Johnson, Chabrenna Rhodes, Ondre Johnson, Britany Hylton, Kamari Clegg, Eboni Johnson and Meghan Anderson; two great-nephews, Donte Giovani Hutchins and Jamir Jordan; 8 additional nieces and nephews; special godson Ja’Shon Jones; one grand-puppy, Pillo JayShan Keels White, who she labeled her therapy dog; daughter-in-love, Shanisty Keels; aunts and uncles, Hazel Simpson, Ezzilina Downing, Kinnell Rhodes-Bender, Rosa-Lee Hill (Earnest), Judy Rhodes, Irene Pledger (Ronald) Robert Rhodes, Allen Rhodes, William Rhodes, Welton Spencer (Aundrea), Arlene Midgett (Henri), Claude Beaufort; great aunt Christine Jones and host of other family members and friends from near and far whom she loved dearly.
