Luvenia Tamika Spencer

As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Ms. Luvenia Tamika Spencer as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with her.  Ms. Spencer got her ticket and stepped on that Morning Train January 1, 2021 while resting in Vidant Pitt Hospital.

The Legacy Remembering events will commence on Sunday January 10, 2021 at beginning at 1 pm where Ms. Spencer will lie in state until time of service. A Triumphant Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2pm at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with Pastor Murray, officiating. 

As hard as it will be for Luvenia’s loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”

She leaves to cherish a very loving and devoted mother Melinda Spencer Shelton of Greenville NC,Father Henry Leeandrus Gibbs of Virginia. Two sisters, Mamie Spencer, Dishema Shelton of Greenville NC, one brother Damian Gibbs (Shenecka) Of VA Beach. She also leaves to Cherish Grandmothers Fannie E Spencer of Greenville NC and MaryJane Doucet of Portsmouth VA. Grandfather Edward Brown(Merella)of Engelhard, NC. Three nieces, Two great nephews. She helped raise very special and dear to her Ariana Ward, Adriana Beckwith, Kiswana, Dishemia, Kenya, Legacy, Shaqunia, Forever ,A Special son Devon, Three special Nephews Damien,Braylon,and King. A special childhood friend Tameka Rogers. A special Aunt Ollie Spencer of Engelhard NC. Special friends of the family the Fulford's, Atashi Murray whom was name after Luvenia. A host of loving Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and other friends and relatives.
