It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Ms. Linda Marie Thompson as she peacefully answered the Master's call on Friday, August 4, 2023, in Hertford, North Carolina.
Linda Marie Thompson was born on November 17, 1943, in White Plains, New York to the late Rufus Daniel Mial and Lena (Dawson) Mial Heath, she was the third oldest of six siblings.
Linda attended the White Plains public school's system and graduated from White Plains High School in 1961. She began her professional path first being hired at White Plains Medical Center as a Unit Secretary then transferred to St. Agnes Hospital as an EEG, EKG, Electrocardiograph Technician. After leaving New York in 1981, Linda continued her path work for Virginia Beach General which she retired in 1999. Linda's Christian experience began at an early age at Trinity United Methodist Church, South Lexington Avenue, White Plains, NY, she loved to read; her favorite foods were seafood and Chinese food. Linda loved her family and friends and loved to entertain. She would say, "If you're going to do something, do it right". Her favorite color was the colors of fall, but she loved the color of brown the most. Linda was married to Joseph Arron Thompson (divorced)
Linda transitioned peacefully on August 4, 2023, at home with her daughter Lisa by her side.
Linda leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter Lisa G. Felton (Eugene), Hertford, NC; granddaughter Lisa Nicole Anderson of White Plains, NY; graudson Duane Michael Lyons of Laurel MD; Danielle Alexandra Carver of San Antonio TX; Ashley Michelle Lyons-Harris (Antonio) of Laurel MD; great granddaughter Da'Nylla M. Lyons, Anyia N. Lyons, Giana J. Dunbar, Aria O. Marshall, Santonio Harris and Santana O Harris including step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by parents: Rufus Daniel Mial, Lena (Dawson) Mial Heath; sisters Maeretha D. Poole, Emma Gail Mial, Doris Jean Jackson, brother; Rufus Daniel Mial; sister Elaine Mial-Harris and nephew, Arkeem Adkins.
Linda will be greatly missed by all, as we keep her memory alive in love, action and in spirit.
