Lenora Taylor Obituary

With genuine comfort and support, the Horton Funeral Home and Cremation family announce the peaceful transition of Mrs. Lenora Dickens Taylor from this life to life everlasting on October 16,2018.

The Services of Remembrance events will begin with hour of Viewing  on Saturday November 2,2019 between the hour of 10am to 11am at Boones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Carrol R. Dickens, officiating. Commencing promptly at 11am a Glorious “See You later” Celebration will be held in the Sanctuary of Boone’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Immediately following the formalities in the house of God, Mrs. Taylor’s precious temple along with her cherished family, will be escorted to the Crestview Cemetery for Committal Rites. Yes, this is a very hard task for Mrs. Lenora’s family to endure, yet they can rest knowing she is in the number John spoke of in the book of Revelations when it stated “those are they who have come up through hard trials and tribulations and have washed their robes in the Blood of the Lamb”.

Lenora loved God and she knew Lord. She accepted God in her life as a child and grew up as a member of Boone’s Chapel Baptist Church until she relocated to Philadelphia, PA.  There she became and remained a member of Moore’s Memorial Baptist Church, which she attended faithfully until her health prevailed.

Lenora was the epitome of a God fearing woman, extremely caring, generous, loving and nurturing to her family, friends and anyone she met. She knew she was a child of God and lived her life to His pleasing. Some of her favorite sayings were “So Help Me Father!” and “Give it to God, because He can do anything but fail!”

She leaves to mourn one son, James R. Taylor (Sharon); one sister in law, Louise Newsome; six Grandchildren, Jackie Taylor, Rosalyn Taylor (Oral), Angela Taylor, Syreeta Precia (Devin), Rodriguez Taylor, James Taylor Jr.;15 Great grandchildren, five Great-great grandchildren, one Special niece Joan Moses; nieces she loves as daughters Barbara, Arlene, Sherry & Trace and host of nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends.

Guests are being received at 102 Abraham Street Jackson,NC where the family will assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton’s Ebony Motorcade.

The Compassionate Professionals of Horton’s Funeral Homes are serving the Taylor and connected families with uncompromising dignity.
