As hard as it will be for Kelly’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. He was preceded in death by his father, Kramer Carter; mother, Roxanna Simmons Carter; uncle, Leamon Simmons; and two sisters, Marion Carter and Diane Dinkins.
Kelly is survived by his children, Sherrica Jones, Kimbly (Lamonte) Yarborough, Kelvon Carter, Courtney Carter, and Chantel (Chevoy) Smith; grandchildren, Shatima Pridgen, Jakeim Thomas, Ashantie Williams, D'nedra Carter, Daijahn Jones, Te'Kiera Newby, and Te'Niya Newby; siblings Carrie (Jeffery) Trussell, Lewis (Sheila) Carter, Keith (Diana) Carter, and Lillian (Henry) Drew.
