John Edward Steward

As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. John Edward Steward as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. The Legacy Remembering events will commence on Sunday May 30, 2021 at beginning at 2 pm with Dr. Kera Johnson officiating. 

As hard as it will be for John’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”

John is survived by his wife Mozel Roberts Steward, one daughter Kandis Steward, 2 grandchildren: Saniah Basnight and Ma'Riya Mayo.  John is also survived by his parents Calvin & Cornela Steward, 4 siblings; Calvin Steward Jr. Alicia Steward, Timothy Steward and Christina Steward and nephews; Aaron Steward, Malik Northern and Amir Northern;  A host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
