As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. Joel Jordan as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. Mr. Jordan got his ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Saturday, April 29, 2023. 

A Triumphant Celebration of Life Service will begin on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2pm at Parker’s Grove Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, NC with Pastor Robert E. Jordan, Eulogist. Mr. Jordan will lie in peaceful repose from 1pm until time of service. 

Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service with Military Honors will come forth in the Robert Gatling Cemetery. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

As hard as it will be for Joel’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
