With an abundance of love and concern, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family is embracing the loved ones of Mrs. JoAnn Leary Vaughan as they prepare to say “Farewell” to a link to their family chain. Mrs. Vaughan closed the curtains on this journey called life Sunday, December 29, 2024 at ECU Health Chowan Hospital.

Services to commemorate Mrs. Vaughan’s Life will begin with a public visitation on Monday January 6, 2025 between the hours of 11am and 12 Noon at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations with the Celebration of Life Service beginning at 12 Noon with Rev. Derrick Cross, officiating. During this time, family and visitors can reminisce on the days of old and embrace everlasting memories, while beginning the healing process as a result of this devastating loss. 

As hard as it will be for Mrs. Vaughan loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
