Though the clouds may hang over there will be a brighter day in that land, they call heaven God shall wipe all tears away…..
With an abundance of love and concern, the Horton Family is embracing the heartbroken loved ones of Mr. James Carlton Pool Sr. as they prepare to say “Farewell” to this vital link to their family chain. Mr. Pool closed the curtains on this journey called life on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for James have been finalized and will commence with Viewing and Visitation at Philadelphia Baptist Church on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 6pm-8pm. The Triumphant Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1pm at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Wade W. Staten, Sr., Pastor/Eulogist and Pastor Randy Harris, Officiant.
Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Hughes Family Cemetery. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.
Guests are being received on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 5pm-8pm at the home of the deceased located at 199 Neck Rd. Shiloh, NC 27974 where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
Although James closed the drapes on this daily walk called life, those whom he loved and loved him can find solace knowing, he has walked into the Garden of Rest where everyday is as peaceful and beautiful as a bright Sunday morning and the sunlight brightens the day from the rays of our Heavenly Father.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Pool; sisters Edith Jennings (Johnny), Sandra Hinton, and Tammy Sutton (Ronald); one brother, Albert Pool Sr.(Marion); and his two children, Tysha Gregory and James Poole Jr. (Dana). He was the proud grandfather of five: Tyquojuan Poole (Angel), Janiyah Sutton, Anthony Heckstall, Jordan Sutton, and Breyana Poole; and the great-grandfather of five. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
The Compassionate Professionals of Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations is providing the unconditional support and compassion to the Pool and connected families throughout this journey and beyond.
