With tender hands of compassion and genuine hearts of love, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations  Family joins with the devoted loved ones of Mr. James Wali Muhammad as they prepare to say “Until We Meet Again." Mr. Muhammad was greeted by his loving Savior, Jesus Christ along with others in the Heavenly Host on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

Services Remembering a Life Well-Lived will begin with a viewing on Thursday, May 19, 2022 between the hours of 5-7pm at Horton’s Memorial Chapel where Mr. Muhammad will lie in peaceful repose. A Triumphant Celebration of Life will commence on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 1pm, where the Celebration of Life Service will be called to order in the Main Sanctuary of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Engelhard, NC.

Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Brown Memorial Cemetery. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

As hard as it will be for Mr. Muhammad’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
