With tender hearts and compassionate hands, the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthy transition of a gentle soul, James Arthur Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell quietly stepped out of Life’s backdoor to meet his Heavenly Father on Sunday July 18,2021.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday August 7,2021 at 11am in the Sanctuary of Branches Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Moments of Visitation have been allotted prior to the Service from 10am until time of service as Mr. Mitchell rests in tranquil repose in the Church Sanctuary. During this time, family and visitors can reminisce on the days of old and embrace everlasting memories, while beginning the healing process as a result of this devastating loss. Immediately following the services in the Sanctuary Mr. Mitchell’s earthen vessel along with his cherished family will be escorted to Mitchell Family Cemetery for Committal Rites. As hard as it will be for Mr. Mitchell’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
He leaves to cherish his memory, Rose Ardella Mitchell (wife), Delinda Artentia (Koko ) Mitchell (daughter), Arthura Daline (Leenie ) Mitchell (daughter), Lisa Branch ( sister and mother of his niece) Daisia Glover (niece). As well as a host of cherished family and friends.
The Compassionate Professionals at Horton Funeral Home and Cremations are humbled to be a part of this precious family and serve them with uncompromising dignity and love during this difficult time.
