It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. James Kenneth Lee Sr. as he peacefully answered the Master's call on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Mr. Lee have been finalized and will commence with a Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with Rev. John R. Shannon, Officiating. Mr. Lee will lie in peaceful repose from 12Noon until time of service.
Immediately following the formalities in the Chapel, Mr. Lee’s earthen vessel along with his cherished family will be escorted to Doves Landing Cemetery for Committal Rites.
As hard as it will be for James’ loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
James leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, of 38 years, Janet Thomas Lee; three sons; James Lee Jr. (Liz) of Hinesville, GA, Justin Lee (Meagan) of Winston Salem, NC, and Jerrell Jones (Rose) of Stokes, NC; 10 grandchildren; Jorden, Jayla, Jace, Jayden, Jadence, Jared, Jenna, Jase, Justus, and Jayce; Mother, Vivian Winslow Lee; brother, Theodore Lee, Jr, Sisters; Joanna Brothers and Carol Griffin (Reginald) all of Elizabeth, City NC; brother-in-laws; Michael Thomas (Leanne), Dale City, VA, Wilbert Thomas (Linder), Hertford, NC, and Vernon Thomas (Karen), Elizabeth City, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
