James “Jim” Walter Hylton of Lilburn, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Hertford, NC. Born August 18, 1957, in Canada, he was the son of the late James Truman Hylton and Dorothy Marie O’Quinn Hylton. Jim was stationed in Panama South America in the U.S. Army during 1975 through 1979. He worked in construction for many years. Jim fell in love with Judo, a Japanese martial art, and Olympic combat sport. He placed third in the world at the Panamanian Olympic games in 1978. He also won several Georgia State Championships. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by one brother, Robert Nathan Hylton. Survivors include one daughter Amanda and Scott Thompson of Kentucky. Two brothers, Mike Hylton from Atlantic, Georgia. Also, John and Susan Hylton from Atlantic, Georgia. The family will honor Jim’s wishes and he will be cremated. His ashes will be spread at a place he held dear to his heart.
