As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Mr. James Edward Bond Jr. as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan with him. Mr. Bond got his ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration events have been methodically orchestrated and will proceed in the following order. Beginning on Friday, August 12, 2022 between the hours of 6pm and 8pm, moments of Viewing and Visitation will take place at Calvary Reformation Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. A Triumphant Celebration of Life Service will commence in the Main Sanctuary of Calvary Reformation Church on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11am.
Immediately following the order of service, an intimate Committal Service will come forth in the Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. It is in this place that his physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.
As hard as it will be for Mr. Bond’s loved ones to depart without him, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
James leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Sharon Bond, son Sherrod Bond (Timilah), daughter Sherene Gaye (Patrice), six grandchildren; Savannah, Titus, Alivia, Patrice Jr., Israel, and Samuel; sisters Jesse Jones of Virginia Beach and Betty Bell of Virginia Beach; and brother Micheal Bond (Jenise) of Chesapeake, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Compassionate Professionals at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are working around the clock to ensure that the Bond family and connected families every need is attended too.
