With sincere compassion and concern, the Horton Family stands hand in hand with the relatives of Mrs. Iris Jean Bryant Murray as they prepare to celebrate her lasting legacy. Mrs. Murray transitioned into eternal rest on Sunday, January 26, 2025 receiving her heavenly summons while resting at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
A Triumphant Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 1pm at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Smith, Eulogist. It will be an adjustment for Mrs. Murray’s and friends not being able to spend time with her any longer while here. However, the silver lining is just as the songwriter penned, “When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus we will sing and shout the victory.”
Immediately following the order of service, a Committal Service will come forth in the Brown Cemetery. It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.
Iris leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Donnie of the home, uncle, Cola G. Bryant (Ethel) of Orangeburg, South Carolina; aunt, Gladys Bryant of Richmond VA; son, Donnie Murray Jr. (Denisha) of Griffin, Georgia; a very good friend Shawna Beale, and her very special group of “Love Children”; three brother-in-laws; Four sister-in-laws, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The professionals at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are accommodating each request and personal desire of the Murray and connected families.
