As the day draws closer to the end than when it began, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with loving arms wrapped around the relatives of Ms. Helen Marie McMurrin as we embark on the “Last Mile” on this side of the Jordan without her. Ms. McMurrin got her ticket and stepped on that Morning Train Friday May 22,2026 in Brooklyn,New York . 

The Glorious and Triumphant Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held Thursday June 4th,2026 at 1pm at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Bettye Watford-Bogan, officiating . Viewing and visitation will take place on Wednesday from 5 PM through 7 PM at Horton‘s Funeral Home and Cremation‘s Hertford.

Following the services in the sanctuary, Helen’s delicate temple along with her adored family will be escorted to the Memory Gardens Cemetery for committal rights.

As hard as it will be for  loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
