Our loving arms of compassion are wrapped around the heartbroken shoulders of the family of Hattie Pearl James Sharpe who answered the Master's Call on Monday October 2, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
On Saturday October 7, 2023 beginning at 3pm a Formal Service of Remembrance will be held at Hortons Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel Hertford, NC. Viewing and Visitation will take place Friday October 6, 2023 at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations from 5-7pm. During this time, family and visitors can reminisce on the days of old and embrace everlasting memories, while beginning the healing process as a result of this devastating loss.
Immediately following the services in the Chapel, Hattie’s earthen vessel along with her cherished family will be escorted to Cedar Wood Cemetery Hertford, NC for committal rights.
As hard as it will be for Mrs. Sharpe’s loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing.... “We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Guests are being received at the residence of the deceased located at 1213 Ocean Hwy South Hertford, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Horton Ebony Motorcade.
Hattie was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Lighfoot, Luke James, Rudolph James, Gus James, Catherine Parker, and Ronald James.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband of 65 years, Thomas Sharpe; three sons, Michael (Tammy) Sharpe of Staton Island, NY, Robby (Virvitine) Sharpe of Birmingham, AL, and Thomas (Sherma) Sharpe of Winston Salem, NC.
Hattie also leaves to cherish her fond memories, one loving sister, Vonda J. Curtis and brother in law, Melvin Parker; 6 grandchildren, Michael (Charlene), Kaleem, Malik’s, Dominique, Adonis and Sha,mon; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Professionals at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations are accommodating each request and personal desire of the Sharpe and connected families.
