With many mixed emotions and understandably broken hearts, the Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations Family joins with family of Mrs. Harvecia Mallett Hassell as they prepare to say “Until We Reunite." Mrs. Hassell transitioned from this Life on February 9,2023 while resting at ECU Health Edenton, NC.
The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Harvecia have been finalized and will commence on Friday, February 17,2023 at 1pm with a Triumphant Homegoing Celebration at Saint Stephen FWB Church New Bern, NC where she will also lie in tranquil repose at 12 noon until the time of service. There will be a viewing and visitation on Thursday February 16,2023 from 6-8pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations.
Following the order of service, Harvecia’s physical temple along with her cherished loved ones will be escorted to the Evergreen Cemetery for Interment Rites. As hard as it will be for Harvecia’s loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing....We’ll understand it better all by and by.”
Waiting for her at the Golden Gate will be her parents, Harvey Dalton and Elisabeth Chapman Dalton; brother, Harry Lee Dalton; and sister, Carolyn Dalton, who all preceded her into the afterlife.
She leaves wonderful memories of love and laughter to her husband, Charles Earl Hassell of Edenton, NC; sisters, H. Lettitia Welfare (Harry Welfare) of CT, E. Vennecia Jackson (Raymond Jackson, Jr.) of TX and Patricia Manns of Winston-Salem; uncle, Jerome “Jerry” Chapman of TX, aunt, Mabel Byrd; nephews, Malcolm Welfare of CT, Raymond Jackson III of TX, Wesley Manns and Bam Manns both of NC, nieces, Maya Welfare of CT, Payton Best, and Alisa Manns of NC; grandniece, ZoraLee Soleil Welfare; sister in laws, Virginia Overton, Carolyn Boyce and Teresa Reed; Zeta Phi Beta Sorors, extended family including a host of cousins and friends.”
The compassionate professionals at Horton’s Funeral Homes and Cremations are working around the clock to ensure that the Hassell and connected families every need is attended too.
