Though the clouds may hang over there will be a brighter day in that land, they call heaven God shall wipe all tears away…..
It is with sincere sadness that the Horton’s Funeral Home Family announces the earthly transition of Mr. Harry Truman McCleese as he peacefully answered the Master's call on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in Greenville, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 3, 2026 at 2pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations. He will lie in state from 1pm until time of service. During this time, family and friends can gather and remember better days with Mr. McCleese while relying on their faith to get them through this difficult time.
Although Mr. McCleese closed the drapes on this daily walk called life, those whom he loved and loved him can find solace knowing, he has walked into the Garden of Rest where everyday is as peaceful and beautiful as a bright Sunday morning and the sunlight brightens the day from the rays of our Heavenly Father.
His legacy continues through Dion Kilby McCleese (Renee McCleese), Kendra Lavette McCleese, Shameka Latrece Blow (Jerry Blow Jr.), Rashida Lavon Patrick (John Patrick Jr.), and Desmond McCleese (Cheryl Clark-McCleese).
He was a cherished grandfather to sixteen grandchildren: Zachary McCleese, Jalyn McCleese, Lauren McCleese, Marcus Perry, Antonio McCleese, Bria Harrell, Darius Harrell, Niya Harrell, Devin Harrell, Angelica Blow, Nathan Blow, Christian Blow, Christina Blow, Christopher McCleese, Jaiahna Patrick, and Jody Patrick and a proud great-grandfather to ten: Camden, Eleanor, Clara, Ryan, Dakari, Linnix, Navana, Loyalty, Zymere, and Kalleigh.
Harry is survived by his nine siblings: Wilma Collins, Gloria Nixon, Mary Sue Nixon, Cynthia Melton, Michael McCleese, Gwendolyn McCleese, Vanessa McCleese, Jeremiah McCleese, and John C. McCleese Jr. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The Compassionate Professionals at Horton Funeral Home and Cremations are humbled to be a part of this precious family and serve them with uncompromising dignity and love during this difficult time.
Goodnight “Harry”...Rest Well, we will see you in the morning.
