Glinda Shamae “Marcy” (Whitehurst) Felton

As all remain in extreme sorrow and astonishing disbelief, the Horton’s Funeral Home Family joins with the family of Glinda Shamae Felton affectionally called “Marcy” as they prepare to say, “Until We Reunite."  Marcy transitioned from this Life on Sunday June 22,2025 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC.

The heartbreaking task of planning the Life Remembering services for Marcy have been finalized and will commence on Sunday, June 29,2025 at 3pm at Horton’s Funeral Home and Cremations with Pastor Kirra Scott, officiating. 

As hard as it will be for Glinda loved ones to depart without her, God our Heavenly Father promised to give peace that will surpass all of our understanding even in the midst of grief and sorrow. The hymnologist said it best... when he put pen to parchment writing....We’ll understand it better all by and by.”

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Sharika Whitehurst; son Curtis Whitehurst; her cherished granddaughter, Kaiya Whitehurst; and her siblings: Issac Moore (Ora Moore), Judy Whitehurst , Thomas Whitehurst, Victor Whitehurst, and Tammy Young. Her partner Antonio Dingle; and a host of nieces and nephews.  Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
